The Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh of Canada visited Chatham-Kent police headquarters to commemorate the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The police later went on Twitter to express their gratitude for the community's recognition of the forces. The kids brought cards, sweets, and rakhis, and they tied rakhis to the wrists of the brave police officers who stand guard over the neighbourhood every minute.
Indians all across the world commemorate the Hindu holiday of Rakshabandhan. The sister ties a rakhi, or embroidered thread, to her brother as a sign of their love and asks for his protection in return. It makes no difference if it's a sibling, parent, sister, or even a police or military officer.
