75th Independence day celebrations in parts of the Greater Toronto Area
The 75th Independence day of India was celebrated with pomp and show in the parts of GTA. Various ceremonies and flag hoisting were held where the Indian Tri-color kissed the summer air of Canada. The grandeur included parades, drive-throughs, stage performances, and cultural activities.

India celebrated the Diamond jubilee celebrations worldwide...in an attempt to bring a flag to every household, people in Indian continent and across the globe flaunted Indian flag on their porches, roofs and cars....Ghar ghar tiranga motion began in India and quickly spread....Many festivities, events were held in Canada on the weekends to mark the 75h Independence day. "Aazadi Ka AmritMahotsav" was organized by Panorama India and the Consulate of India.
Panorama India and the Consulate of India hosted the Parade at Nathan Phillips Square Toronto, which saw Rahul Dev and Mugdha Godse in attendance and floats from various Indian regions. The people on the floats exhibited a glimpse just like the one you'd see at Rajpath, Delhi. The crowd around them cheered as it passed.
75 years of India's Independence was celebrated across Ontario by each City & several Indo-Canadian Organizations, and the concluding program by Panorama India was at Toronto's Nathan Philips Square with colorful floats by India's states and marching many other organizations. The stage had day-long cultural performances showcasing the unity in the diversity of India. Defence Minister Anita Anand was the Chief Guest. Earlier in the morning, the Past Chairs of Panorama India were honored by the Consul General of India, Apoorva Srivastava.
75th Independence Day Drive Through Parade in Halton organized by the Canadian Indian Association
On August 20, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM EST, the Canadian Indian Association of Halton Region held a drive-through parade to commemorate India's 75th anniversary of independence. The Parade left the Milton Sports Center at nine in the morning and arrived in Oakville at eleven. The Parade's final stop was Burlington City Hall at noon.
