This year, he is celebrating 40 years as mayor, making him the longest-serving mayor in Canadian history. He has served the Town of Milton since first being elected as a Town councillor in 1965. In the words of Mayor Krantz, this isnt an achievement, its an absolute honour to serve the Milton community.
Throughout Mayor Krantz 55 years as a municipal leader, 15 years as councillor and 40 years as mayor, his passion and dedication to the community has never stopped growing. Mayor Krantz has also served on the Regional Municipality of Halton Council since 1980 and the Conservation Halton Board of Directors since 1973.
Mayor Krantz has watched Milton grow exponentially over the years, not only in population, but in diversity. It gives him great pride to be the Mayor of such a supportive, inclusive and culturally rich community.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Milton has shown strength time and time again. While it hasnt been an easy road, its clear that this community is full of people who care. Mayor Krantz has seen countless organizations and businesses step up to protect the health and safety of others and adjust to a new normal.
