The Halton Regional Police Service has had to make changes in in how they serve the community during Covid 19

Indo Canadian club spoke to Sergeant Ryan Smith of Halton Police about how the Police services have been working during these testing times and below is what he had to say. We love our Police services family who work hard to make sure that we and our families are always safe. Thank you to Halton Police from all Indo Canadians.

The Halton Regional Police Service has had to make changes in in how they serve the community during Covid 19

We are living in very trying times which have impacted families everywhere. Many organizations have had to change how they conduct their day to day business including the Halton Regional Police Service.

The Halton Regional Police Service has had to make changes in in how we serve the community while ensuring that we still provide a high level of service delivery. Public safety is the mandate of our police service which includes ensuring the safety and well-being of all Halton residents. Making sure officers and the public they interact with are safe from covid-19 became one of the top priorities of our Police Service.

Ensuring that personal protection equipment is available and used has allowed the police service to continue to interact with the community in a safe and productive manner. Our police service prides itself on the development of many positive community partnerships which assist in how we serve the community. In person meetings have had to become virtual meetings in order to maintain the partnerships and continue the sharing of ideas on how to best serve the Halton community.

These stressful and uncertain times can have an effect on peoples mental health which is why our police services mental health response teams have continued to be available to the community. The increase in stress has caused us to look inward and ensure that its members have the necessary mental health assistance they may require.

As stated earlier these are very uncertain times however it is very certain that we will continue to serve the Halton community with the highest level of professionalism to ensure everyones safety.
