The Government has announced the extension in Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) until next summer 2021, this will boost Canadian businesses and economy in time of need and in case there is another lockdown considering the second wave.
As a Canadian employer who has seen a drop in revenue due to COVID-19, you may be eligible for a subsidy to cover part of your employee wages, retroactive to March15. This subsidy will enable you to re-hire workers, help prevent further job losses, and ease you back into normal operations. People who have lost their jobs will also continue to get Employment Insurance.

This will help retain current employees and will help hire new ones. The Government also announced creating 1million new jobs and the industries that are hard hit due to the pandemic.
